MAGNIFICENT CHICAGO: WRITER/BLOGGER GOES ON VACATION

CHICAGO, Aug 30—While our little dog kea is holding the fort back in Maui with his dogsitter, we have headed back to our hometown and will be posting amazing photos of the town known as the Second City, which really is the first city. (the Second City name by the way comes from the days of the Chicago fire, when residents built a second city. It never had anything to do with being second. Also, in a fight with New York City, it won the right to hold the Columbian Exposition, the most successful world’s fair ever held.

Watch for photos of the Jazz Festival and goings on around town in the next few days.
