HONUA KAI, Dec. 6.  On Maui we know how to have fun.  Friday it was a Duke’s fifth annual birthday celebration with guests making a contribution to a local school in exchange for two free beers and pupus.  The popular place, a wonderful spot to see whales in the ocean behind an expansive lawn of native plants, recently expanded with a new bar area in back.  Kapono who usually performs once a month provided the entertainment for those inside and others on the Honua Kai lawn. The blogger sometimes enjoys coconut bisque lobster soup there but gets a bill like everyone else.  No monies exchanged for this post that reaches 1700 followers across the nation.  Watch for coverage of Santa’s arrival at Hula Grill, another TS restaurant, later this month.
