WHALES AND RAINBOWS OF COLORS

Kapalua, Feb. 16–Maui’s 10,000 whales who visit these waters each year sing distinctive songs and whales in Japan, the Philippines, and Mexico sing the same songs with slight differences. Whale researcher Jim Darling speaking before some 600 people at a Whale Trust Maui event graphically depicted slight differences in the songs from different parts of the world. Watch for my upcoming Lahaina News column in which this top researcher explains the phenomena
